After the technology and parts of making a horseless carriage were available from the late 1890’s, a huge variety of auto makers emerged in the USA. The period from 1890 to around 1915 represents the brass era. During this time, various automobile parts including the radiator and other fittings were made of brass. 1911 Oldsmobile Autocrat
This is one of the most powerful vehicles produced during the brass era. The car came with a forty-horse power, inline-four-cylinder engine. This was coupled with a four-speed sliding gear manual transmission. This model was preferred for a variety of racing applications at the time.
