Infiniti’s New Q50 Red Sport 400 Offers Most Power Under $50k

Infiniti has just announced pricing of its new range range-topping Q50 model, the 2016 Q50 Red Sport 400. When it arrives in showrooms this month, it will be available from at $48,855.

The new model is aimed at delivering the best driver’s car in the sport sedan segment under the $50k mark. In addition to achieving this through a competitive price, the Q50 Red Sport offers a new 3.0-liter VR30 twin-turbocharged V6 engine that cranks out 400 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque.

Other features that set the Red Sport 400 apart from other Q50 models include unique exhaust tips, model-specific 19-inch wheels, and “S” exterior badging, and a sport-tuned Digital Dynamic Suspension. It also receives a long list of standard equipment, such as leather-appointed upholstery, a 14-speaker sound system, SiriusXM satellite radio, a dual screen infotainment system, rearview monitor, and brake assist, to name just a few.

“The Q50 Red Sport 400’s new 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo engine is the most advanced V6 engine that Infiniti has ever offered, striking an ideal balance between drivability, efficiency, and performance,” said Randy Parker, vice president, Infiniti Americas. “It also offers the highest standard, non-specialty horsepower in class.”

With the arrival of this new model, Infiniti is effectively bolstering its Q50 lineup to appeal to an even wider range of potential customers. The base model now includes a turbocharged four-cylinder model that delivers 208 hp and can be had at $34,855. Opting for a naturally aspired 3.7-liter gas engine, the price tag will increase by $3,200. A Q50 Hybrid model also available, offering a total of 360 hp and a base price of $47,955.

The new 2016 Q50 Red Sport 400’s $48k base price includes rear-wheel-drive. Prices go up by $2,000 when choosing the available all-wheel drive configuration.

The Q50 continues to be the best-selling model within Infiniti’s lineup. The addition of the new Red Sport 400 model, with its range of performance-intensifying features, should only help drive even more luxury car buyers to Infiniti showrooms.
