For those wanting a Porsche Macan but are on the fence about the high-performance Turbo S model, the German automaker has you covered. A new Performance Package is the next best thing, giving the standard Macan a slew of performance upgrades.
First and foremost, the arrival of this new package boosts performance from 400 horsepower to 440 hp. The Macan’s 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6 also gets a torque boost, elevated to 442 lb-ft. The additional grunt under the hood will translated into a 0.4 second quicker 0-62 mph time of just 4.4 seconds.
But power isn’t the only area of improvement. The Performance Package also adds larger brakes to control that extra power, with front brake rotors increased by 1.2 inches to a whopping 15.4 inches total. When its time to enter the twisties, Porsche has also added Porsche Active Suspension Management, effectively lowering the Macan by 0.6 inches as well.
The optional Sport Chrono pack is now standard with the Performance Package. This gives the Macan the Sport Plus driving mode and a more aggressive exhaust system.
Naturally, prices for upgrade to the engine, transmission, exhaust, and suspension, will be somewhat steep. The Performance package adds about $10,000 to the Macan, bringing its price up to $85,445.
